About

Mitchell Taljaard / Rudra Yoga

Hi, I’m Mitchell Taljaard and I’m thrilled to be opening my first yoga studio! I love yoga , and it has become an integral part of my life. It has helped me develop a deeper understanding of myself, and it has provided me with a sense of peace and grounding that I’ve never found anywhere else.

I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training with Chaitanya School of Yoga, where I learned the principles of yoga and how to create a safe and supportive environment for my students.

Opening my own studio has always been a dream of mine. I wanted to create a space where people could come together to practice yoga, connect with each other, and find a moment of peace in their busy lives. It’s been a challenging journey, but with the help of my friends, family, and community, I’m proud to say that my dream has become a reality.

At Rudra Yoga, my goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can feel comfortable and supported. I believe that yoga is for everybody, regardless of their age, gender, or background. I’m committed to providing high-quality classes that are challenging, inspiring, and accessible to all levels.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my love of yoga with others, and I’m excited to see where this journey will take me. I hope to see you on the mat soon!

Why did I choose Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin?

Hatha Yoga:
• Hatha Yoga is a foundational style that focuses on physical postures (asanas) and breath control (pranayama).
• It helps improve flexibility, balance, and strength, enhancing overall physical well-being.
• Hatha Yoga is ideal for beginners as it introduces basic poses and teaches proper alignment and breathing techniques.
• It promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and enhances mental clarity.

Vinyasa Yoga:
• Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic style that links movement with breath, creating a flowing sequence of poses.
• It improves cardiovascular health, builds endurance, and enhances flexibility and strength.
• Vinyasa Yoga increases body awareness and coordination through the smooth transition between poses.
• It encourages a meditative state of mind, promoting mindfulness and a sense of inner peace.

Yin Yoga:
• Yin Yoga focuses on long-held, passive poses that target the deep connective tissues, joints, and fascia.
• It enhances flexibility, increases circulation, and improves joint mobility and flexibility.
• Yin Yoga stimulates the meridian channels in the body, promoting the flow of energy (chi) and balancing the body’s systems.
• It cultivates patience, mindfulness, and surrender, allowing for deep relaxation and stress relief.
